» About hypios

Founded in April 2008, hypios is the first social marketplace for solutions. hypios facilitates problem solving by connecting companies to a global community of Solvers through an online social network. Anyone can join hypios, offer solutions to the problems posted and interact with other Solvers.

» Marketplace

The Marketplace lists all open problems on hypios.com. Users can browse problems by category or keyword, and submit a solution for any problem on hypios. Problems come from various fields, including business and engineering, theoretical and applied research, computer science, and product design.

» Seekers

hypios is suitable for companies from all over the world in any sector, with any budget and of any size. hypios gives small and medium-sized companies access to the knowledge of a global community of highly-qualified Solvers whom they could not hire internally. Large companies get multiple outside perspectives on their problems. For every problem, the Seeker decides how much he would be willing to pay for a solution.

» Sharing & Privacy

hypios is designed to encourage social and professional interactions. Solvers can use their profiles like enhanced business cards to share their problem solving credentials. But anyone who wants to solve problems anonymously can do so. Users have full control over who can see what parts of their profile.

» Funding

hypios is a private company funded by a network of angel investors and other private investors, many of whom occupy leading positions in industry, business and research. This community of global business leaders participated in 3 rounds of investment. 1st round : 150,000 euros from the founder. 2nd round: 250,000 euros from first business angels. 3rd round : 500,000 euros. Round in preparation : 2M euros from VC funds & business angels.

» Board of Directors & Executives

The hypios board consists of sixteen professionals with top-level international experience in fields ranging from finance and law to physics and computer science. They meet quarterly to refine hypios' corporate strategy. The hypios executives are an international team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
